Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Bobber (the “app”) and this website collect, how it’s used, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have. Bobber is operated by Eeronautic, LLC in Monterey, California (“we,” “us”). Questions or requests: hello@eeronautic.com.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password, we receive your name (if provided), email address (which may be an Apple private relay address), and an account identifier. We don’t receive or store your Apple or Google password. Email/password credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication.

Content you create

Catches (photos, species, date and time, location, size, notes, conditions), waypoints, saved fishing areas, trips, profile and onboarding preferences, and any feedback or bug reports you send us (including screenshots you attach). This is stored in your account.

Location

If you allow it, Bobber uses your device’s precise location while you’re using the app to center the map, drop waypoints, and record where a catch happened. Bobber does not track your location in the background. Locations you save with a catch or waypoint, and locations embedded in photos you choose to import, are stored with that content. Forecast and condition requests use the coordinates of the place you’re viewing.

Photos, camera, and photo library

Bobber can use your camera to photograph catches and preview trophies in augmented reality. With your permission, it can scan your photo library to find photos of catches. That scan runs on your device. Photos are uploaded to your account only when you choose to add them to your logbook. If you decline photo access, Bobber still works; you can add photos manually.

Voice dictation

If you dictate trip notes, Bobber uses Apple’s speech recognition to turn your speech into text. Depending on your device and settings, audio may be sent to Apple for processing, subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Bobber does not save the audio recording; it keeps the transcribed text.

Purchases

Subscriptions are billed by Apple. We don’t receive your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, and it receives your account identifier and purchase and entitlement information.

Usage, device, and diagnostic information

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used: screens viewed, features used, app version, device model, operating system, approximate region, and a random app-instance identifier. We also keep counters of your use of limited features (such as fish identification and free-plan catch allowances) so we can enforce plan limits and control costs.

This website

The Bobber website uses Firebase Analytics to record page views. It doesn’t collect names or email addresses.

2. How we use information

3. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Bobber, and only what they need:

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Bobber, and to a successor if Bobber is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We don’t sell your personal information and don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Your content is private by default

Your catches, waypoints, areas, and photos are visible only to you. Bobber doesn’t currently have public profiles or sharing to other users. If that changes, we’ll ask before anything you’ve made is shared.

5. Retention and deleting your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual catches, waypoints, and areas at any time.

To delete your account, open Settings → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes your account and the content associated with it, including photos. Deleted data may remain in backups for a limited period before it’s overwritten. We, Apple, and RevenueCat may retain purchase records as required for accounting and legal purposes. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription; manage or cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings.

If you can’t access the app, email hello@eeronautic.com from the address on your account and we’ll delete your account.

6. Your choices and rights

We’ll respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to stored data is restricted to your authenticated account through access rules. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

8. International transfers

Bobber is operated from the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using Bobber you understand your information may be transferred to and processed outside your country of residence.

9. Children

Bobber isn’t directed to children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
